Where did your setup stop?
Choose what you see for the next step. Start with one short episode and test playback on land.
My headphones do not appear in Files
Check the USB connection before returning to Swimcast.
- Connect the player with its data-transfer cable or cradle. A charging-only cable cannot transfer episodes.
- In Apple’s Files app, open Browse → Locations. If you are already inside a folder, return to Browse first.
- Check the maker’s transfer instructions and your adapter. Some external storage needs additional power. Do not erase or reformat the player to try to fix this.

I only see iCloud Drive or On My iPhone
Find the connected player before selecting a destination.
- Those locations store files in iCloud or on your phone. Selecting them will not put episodes on your headphones.
- Return to Browse → Locations and look for the connected player. If it is absent, check the cable, adapter, and the maker’s transfer instructions.
- Do not choose an unrelated folder just to continue. The sync workflow can replace files in the selected folder.

The player appears, but I cannot connect its folder
Check the destination in the folder picker.
- Keep the player connected. In Swimcast’s folder picker, browse to the same player you can see in Files.
- Select the folder where your headphone maker says MP3 audio belongs. Folder names and locations vary by device.
- Back up audio you want to keep before syncing: the current workflow can replace files in the selected folder. If the picker is cancelled, return to the connection step to try again.
- If selection still fails, include the exact message or what happens when you select the folder in your support email.

The folder connects, but the sync fails
Separate a disconnected player from an episode-download problem.
- Note the exact error before leaving the screen. Check that the player is still visible in Files and that your iPhone has internet access for downloading the episode.
- Check the player’s available space. Back up wanted files before removing anything; do not erase the player.
- Some feeds block downloads or use unsupported audio. If the app still offers a sync, try one short episode from another public podcast and keep the player connected until it finishes.
- If the free sync is no longer available, contact support with the result before buying Plus just to retry.

Swimcast says complete, but I cannot hear the episode
Check playback on the headphones while you are on land.
- Disconnect only after the transfer finishes. Switch the player to MP3 mode if it has more than one playback mode.
- Check that the MP3 files reached the player’s audio folder, rather than iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Follow the maker’s audio-format and playback instructions. An app-reported transfer alone does not confirm audible playback.
- Tell support whether files are present, which folder contains them, and what the headphones do when you press play.

The episode plays on my headphones
Your setup has passed the playback check you just reported.
- Check the episode order on the headphones before your swim. Keep a note of the cable, adapter, and folder that worked.
- Your first sync is free. If you want more syncs, Swimcast Plus offers a one-time lifetime unlock. Check the in-app purchase screen for your local price.
- Already own Plus? Restore it with the Apple ID used for the purchase. If a later sync fails, use the checks above and tell support what changed.
- Share your setup and whether this was your first or a repeat sync. That helps us understand which real hardware combinations work.

A model name alone does not establish compatibility. The full guide below covers Files, the destination folder, and playback.
Start with one short episode and test playback on land. Your first sync is free. Use it to check the full workflow with your own headphones, cable, and iPhone before deciding on Swimcast Plus.
1. Check that your iPhone can see the headphones
You need an iPhone running iOS 17 or later, compatible MP3 swim headphones, and a USB connection that transfers data. A charging-only connection is not enough. Use the headphones’ transfer cable or cradle and an adapter suitable for your iPhone if needed.
Connect the headphones, then open Apple’s Files app. Tap Browse and look under Locations for the connected player. If you are inside another folder, return to Browse first.
- The player appears: open it and find the folder where the headphones read MP3 audio. Continue below.
- The player does not appear: check the cable, adapter, connection, and the manufacturer’s file-transfer instructions. Some external devices need additional power. Swimcast needs iOS to expose the player’s storage before it can write to it.
- You only see iCloud Drive or On My iPhone: those are not the headphones. Selecting them will not put audio on the player.
See Apple’s external-storage instructions for Files, adapter, and power guidance. A headphone model name alone does not confirm that a particular iPhone and cable combination works; see compatibility notes.
2. Choose one episode and the headphone folder
Download Swimcast, add a podcast, select one short episode, and review the playback order. Continue to the connection step.
When the folder picker opens, browse to the connected player’s storage and select its audio folder. Use the folder where your headphone maker says MP3 files belong; the location and name vary by device.
Check the destination before syncing. Swimcast’s existing folder workflow can replace files in the selected folder. Back up audio you want to keep and avoid choosing a folder containing unrelated files. If you are unsure which folder to use, ask support before continuing.
If you cancel the picker, return to the connection step when your headphones are ready. Cancelling does not confirm a connection. If the player disconnects, reconnect it and check Files again.
3. Sync, then listen before swimming
Start the sync and keep the player connected until Swimcast reports completion. Disconnect it after the transfer finishes, switch to MP3 mode if your player has multiple modes, and play the episode on the headphones.
A completed transfer and audible playback are two separate checks. If the app reports success but you cannot hear the episode, check the player’s audio folder, supported formats, and playback mode. For OpenSwim-specific steps, see the OpenSwim guide.
After your free sync
Swimcast Plus unlocks unlimited syncs with a one-time lifetime purchase. The US App Store lists it at $29.99 as of September 9, 2026; check the purchase screen for your local price. There is no subscription for this lifetime unlock.
Already bought Plus? Use the purchase screen’s restore option with the Apple ID used for the purchase. If products do not load or restoration fails, see purchase support.
Stuck? Tell us where it stopped
Email support@nxz91.com with:
- Headphone model, iPhone model, and iOS version.
- Cable or adapter used, and whether the player appears in Files.
- The step that stopped, the app version, and any error message.
- Whether sync completed and whether the episode played on the headphones.
These details help us distinguish a connection problem from a transfer or playback problem.
